Explore deep space, deep seas and the world around you at one of the region’s most-loved venues! The Putnam Museum and IMAX Theatre in Davenport combines learning with fun — it’s a unique, multi-sensory experience we call “entertainment for your mind.” With six immersive permanent exhibit halls, two changing exhibit halls, a giant six-story IMAX screen and lots of family-friendly events, the Putnam offers great multi-generational experiences. It’s fun for the entire family!

See more! Hear more! Feel more! With 10,000 watt digital surround sound, and a six-story screen, IMAX is the ultimate movie going experience! These are just some of the films you can see this spring in the Putnam’s IMAX: Hubble 3D; Avatar 3D: The IMAX Experience; Wild Ocean 3D; and Australia: Land Beyond Time. Coming this summer is How to Train Your Dragon 3D; Shrek Forever After 3D and Legends of Flight 3D! You just haven’t seen it until you’ve seen it in IMAX!

Celebrate Earth Month!

Get your groove on at Greenstock! Slated for 11am-3pm on Friday, April 2, it’s all about eco-friendly activities for kids! Tie-dyeing, recycled crayonmaking, junk jewelry, and nature bookmarks are just some of the fun activities! Just $5/person and includes Exhibit Halls admission! Tickets are available at the event.

Then join us for Museum Hill Cleanup from 10am-noon on Saturday, April 10! Take home a tree to plant as part of the Million Trees project by Living Lands & Waters. Cleanup supplies provided thanks to our friends at the Scott County Waste Commission | iLivehere. Free and open to the public!

Our kids’ science club tackles recycling in Putnam Explorers: Trashology, set for 1:30-3:30pm on Sunday, April 11. Discover the value of trash via games, art, and hands-on activities in this Reduce-Recycle-Reuse jam session. $9 for 2nd-6th graders!

Discover summer camp

Explore history, science and nature with Summer Camp at the Putnam! This year’s slate of camps offers something for everyone — from American Girl to Harry Potter to airplanes, jets and rockets! Children can spend the summer investigating the magic of flight; examining the world of magic and potions; or discovering nature up close and personal!
