Genesis Surgery Programs Recognized As “Blue Distinction Centers”

Genesis Medical Center, Davenport has been designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement and for Spine Surgery by Wellmark BlueCross and BlueShield of Iowa.

Blue Distinction Centers are a select group of programs across the country meeting stringent standards of quality and patient outcomes. Genesis Medical Center, Davenport previously was designated a Blue Distinction Center“ for Bariatric Surgery and for Cardiac Care.

Genesis is the only regional health system to earn Blue Distinction Center designation in four programs and is the only regional health system to earn the distinctions for Cardiac Care, Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery.

Blue Distinction Centers for Knee and Hip Replacement demonstrate an expertise in quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for patients, by meeting objective clinical measures developed in collaboration with expert physicians and medical organizations.
