Conjugated linoleic acid, abbreviated as CLA, is an unsaturated fatty acid that has been shown to reduce body fat by 10 percent and increase lean body mass. It was first introduced to the market as a supplement and is now being integrated into different food sources such as Hy-Vee Trim & Toned Yogurt with Tonalin. Look for this new product containing CLA at your local Hy-Vee. Sourced from natural safflower oil, Tonalin CLA is natural and environmentally sustainable. Look for Hy-Vee Trim and Toned Yogurt with Tonalin in the dairy department today.
Did you know?
• Postmenopausal women are at risk of losing lean tissue mass, and CLA has shown effects of lowering fatty tissue mass while not changing lean tissue mass.
• Men are more prone to gaining abdominal fat while aging.
• Studies have shown CLA to help reduce abdominal fat when intake was 311 mg CLA/day that is approximately 13-fold higher than what is usually obtained in the diet.
