Support Groups and Informational Seminars

Quad Cities Alzheimer’s Association – Alzheimer’s Community Education is offering a series of free educational programs at Davenport Public Library, 6000 Eastern Ave, and Moline Public Library, 3210 – 41st St. All classes are 1:30 – 3 pm.
Fri, May 23 at the Moline Library and Wed, May 28 at the Davenport Library – Alzheimer’s, Dementia, & Communication. A class about the warning signs, how Alzheimer’s compares or differs from normal aging and other forms of dementia, and basic principles of the best ways to approach and communicate with someone diagnosed as the disease progresses.
Fri, June 20 at the Moline Library and TBA at the Davenport Library – Practical Tips for Caregivers. Suggestions for caregivers devoted to the daily struggles of caring for someone diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or a related disease, based on principles outlined in Coach Broyles’ Playbook for Alzheimer’s Caregivers.
Classes are open to family and professional caregivers. Each class is independent of the other classes. Those interested are encouraged to attend one or both of the classes.
