Happenings in the Hilltop Campus Village Spaces and Places

A new business has opened up on Harrison. In April of this year, Jason Rockwell moved his business into the warehouse space at 1512 N. Harrison. You may have driven by there. From the street you see a neat little building set back with a patio style open area in the front. His business is Quad Cities Liquidation, LLC. Access to his warehouse is from the alley behind.

This is a retail business selling overstock merchandise and customer returns from major retailers. You can save 50% or more off of the suggested retail price. Items include bedding, household items, small furniture, area rugs, decorative pillows, clothing, toys and baby items.

Currently, since Quad Cities Liquidation, LLC is operating out of the warehouse, Jason is offering pop-in sales at selected times for the public.

August pop-in sales dates are:

Sunday, August 1, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.;
Saturday, August 14, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.;
and Sunday, August 15, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Follow on Facebook page, Quad Cities Liquidation, for the latest in merchandise and additional pop-up dates.

Jason is also looking for storefront space in the Hilltop Campus Village where he can have set hours of operation.

The Annual Meeting of the Hilltop Campus Village was held on June 24. A 15 minute video shared many of the year’s past space expansions and anticipated expansions in the near future. The video can be viewed on Hilltop Campus Village Facebook page.

Lonnie and Constance Westerfield have purchased the space at 1600 N. Harrison, which was previously known as Greatest Grains. They have plans for all of the space in this place. All plans are with the community in mind, to make the Hilltop Campus Village a better place to live, shop and visit. A Juice and Smoothie Bar is in the works. Plans are being made for areas for youth to be able to gather, to learn through fun and teamwork and to interact.

Other areas would be used for different community functions. Some areas would be retail for small fledgling businesses.

Both campuses of higher learning, St. Ambrose University and Palmer College of Chiropractic, have great plans for expanding their spaces to enrich the lives of their students and faculty.

Yes, exciting things are happening with spaces and places in the Hilltop Campus Village.
