From Aging Solo to Empowered Living
Shortly before the pandemic and the subsequent shutdown, the GolderCare team presented a 6-week educational course on the topic of Aging Solo. It was primarily intended for people who are aging without many – or any – supports in place. Perhaps they had no spouse, no children, or other close relatives or friends to help them age in place. Or perhaps their close friends and relatives were too tied up to get involved or otherwise unable.
The course was popular with those who attended, and afterwards we started a group for course graduates known as the “Aging Solo Club.” This ran for a while until the pandemic wreaked pandemonium and we couldn’t get together any longer.
We are currently in the process of resurrecting the Club while simultaneously expanding its mission and membership. You are cordially invited to join the Club at this time. Whether you’re aging solo or with supports, whether you’re aged or young, the Club is open to you and has something to offer everyone. Club membership is open to anyone 18 years of age or older.
The purpose of the Club has been broadened from helping those who are facing the challenges of aging solo (alone) to all people who face the challenges of aging.
The Club’s motto is “Facing the Challenges of Aging . . . Together.”
To mark the Club’s expanded mission, we are changing the name from the “Aging Solo Club” to the “Empowered Living Club.” The newly reconstituted Club offers you 3 primary benefits. First, educational programming to foster empowered living as we age.
Second, mutual support programming to support each other as we age so no one need age alone. Third, group membership discounts. We already have our first in place!
To learn more about the Club, contact us at elc@goldercare.com or at 309.764.2273. We’ll get you the information you need in order to take advantage of this exciting offer.
Check out this valuable opportunity now while savings are at their highest. We look forward to you joining us and everyone empowering themselves to live their best life.
