QC Breast Cancer Support Group Meeting in Illinois is the 3rd Wednesday of the month, 11:30 am – 1 pm at the Butterworth Center, 1105 8th Street, Moline, Illinois. Grief Support Group sponsored by CASI – meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Currently, this group meets at 9:30 am at the Family Restaurant, 902 W. Kimberly Rd, Davenport, IA. This is a FREE community service program; however participants are required to sign-up in advance by calling (563) 386-7477 ext 227 and leaving a message for Vicky Ertel. Participants are responsible for their own food and beverage costs.

Museum Exhibits
Bettendorf Children’s Museum has many interactive and hands on exhibits and activities for youth of all ages. Exhibits include: Fox Hollow, George’s Farm, Lil ‘Ssippi River Valley, Playhouse, Outdoor Play Area, Thomas & Friends – Explore the Rails! And Russell Dig Zone! Davenport School Museum housed in the JBYoung Opportunity Center, 1702 N. Main Street, Davenport, is the museum for the Davenport school system. It holds many pieces of memorabilia of Davenport schools. Hours are limited: Monday 9 AM – 11 AM, Thursday 10 AM – 2 PM and Friday 10 AM – 2: PM.
Figge Art Museum – Current exhibits and events include:
1. “Anne Lindbergh: think like the river with poet Ginny Threefoot” Now through September 4. This exhibit is an interactive bodily experience.The confluence of visual art and language will stimulate a dialogue about the inner and outer worlds of mind and landscape. 2. On Thursday August 4, River Action and the Native American Coalition of the Quad Cities will explore the history of the Mississippi River in our region, in connection with the exhibition think like a river. 3. On Thursday August 25, Dr. David Cunning, Professor and Chair of the philosophy department of the University of Iowa, will explore themes from the exhibition think like a river. 4. “College Invitational 2022” Now through August 28. Students from eight area colleges and universities have been invited to share their works with the public. 5. “Corn Zone” Now through September 4, an exhibit of oversized blown glass ears of corn suspended from the ceiling will show the fragility of glass, the story of corn and the contemporary issues in farming.
The Figge is located at 225 W Second Street, Davenport
German American Heritage Center located at 712 W Second Street, Davenport. The museum is a Victorian architecture style building that chronicles and preserves the history of German-Americans in the Midwest region. Hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday noon to 4:00 PM. closed Mondays.

Craft Show The Beta Sigma Phi Craft Show will be Saturday, October 15, 9:00am – 3:00 pm. Galva High School, Galva, Illinois. Over 100 vendors $2 admission. Food available. No pets or strollers, please. Proceeds go to community projects.
Charity Golf Outings
Monday August 15. Ridgecrest Foundation is having it’s 3rd Annual Golf Outing at Palmer Hills Golf Course in Bettendorf. $300/team. Four person scramble event starting at 9:00 am. Friday August 19. Rotary Club of Davenport is having its inaugural golf outing at Duck Creek Golf Course in Davenport. $125 per player or $400/foursome. Welcome and rules at 10:30. Shotgun start at 11:00. Lunch during play on golf carts. 5:00 pm dinner and awards at Duck Creek Lodge. Proceeds help Davenport Rotary with community projects, including scholarships for Davenport high schools.
