Polka Anyone?

By Julie Arndt
Marketing Director at Ridgecrest Village

Fall is upon us. And while we may not roll out the barrel, Ridgecrest Village is planning on having a barrel of fun at our Polka Fest, coming Thursday, October 19th. Lederhosen and Alpine hats are optional, of course!

Ridgecrest will be entertaining you with the Muzik Krauts band from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.  There’ll be light refreshments to enjoy and the fun that comes when good people gather on a cool autumn evening.

Music is a wonderful kind of ‘glue’ that binds us together…some music reminds us of our younger days and some, like Polka music, continues to remind us that fun still awaits if we just get out there and, uh, Oompah!

We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy the music, the fall weather, refreshments and just mingle in our beautiful Eastridge Courtyard.  If there’s rain don’t worry; we’ll move the Polka Fest inside. So, there’s nothing to worry about if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

We’d love you to come to get a taste of that Ridgecrest Feeling. We started calling it that because at Ridgecrest there is a unique feeling of community, of comfort and welcome. Our residents tell us how much they love it here and they embrace all that Ridgecrest has to offer. They want you to experience it too!

If you’d like to take a closer look at Ridgecrest on October 19th, you can do that by taking a tour. Guided tours will be offered from 4:30 to 5:30 pm just before the festivities get started. Tours are offered ahead so you won’t miss any of the fun! But you’re also welcome to simply come and enjoy the music and fellowship of the evening. Please let us know you will be attending by calling Karen McCoy at 563.388.3563.

Fall can sometimes bring a slight wistfulness as the twilight descends on an autumn day and we look back and reflect on good times and good music from the past. But as Robert Browning wrote “…the best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made.”

Come see us on the 19th and get that Ridgecrest Feeling firsthand…let’s Polka!
