A Pause for Poetry
By Gary Heath
Poet in Residence for 50+ Lifestyles.
Chrysalis Birth
The pupa believes in life, inner urge
Deep within, it struggles in dark
Dungeon chrysalis, fights blindly for
Air and light, exerts all, so it can fly,
Fly in beauty. Beauty flutters over
Earth of its birth, beauty bounteous,
Resplendent, ethereal airborne. Beauty
Pollinates, beauty and new life, the
Worth butterfly adds to birth.
Spring Day
The horizon is a panache of golden
Strands and creamy wisps, a fresh
Breeze whispers softly in the trees
And wafts the piquant scent of
Spring flowers over the grass. Our
Spirits soar, so much joy in fragrant
Blossoms and new green grass. The
Mingling sachet of purple bergamot,
Queen Anne’s lace, and honeysuckle
Fills the air with lusty, vernal perfume.
