Cancer Support Community Iowa & NW Illinois at Gilda’s Club (formerly Gilda’s Club Quad Cities), 4th Thursday of the month from 6-7:30 pm. Individuals can call our office to get started with our group at 563-326-7504 or email program@gildasclubqc.org

QC Breast Cancer Support Group Meeting in Illinois is the 3rd Wednesday of the month, 11:30 am – 1 pm at the Butterworth Center, 1105 8th Street, Moline, Illinois.

Grief Support Group sponsored by CASI – meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Currently, this group meets at 9:30 am at the Family Restaurant, 902 W. Kimberly Rd, Davenport, IA. This is a FREE community service program; however participants are required to sign-up in advance by calling (563) 386-7477 ext 227 and leaving a message for Vicky Ertel. Participants are responsible for their own food and beverage costs.

Family Caregiver Support Group  at CASI, 1035 W Kimberly Rd, Davenport. Caregiving can be challenging, but you are not alone. We invite you to join us the first and third Thursday of each month from 4:30 – 5:30pm in the CASI Library. Call (563) 386-7477. Go to website www.CASISeniors.org.

Dementia: It’s many forms Does your loved one have Alzheimer’s, Lewy Body, Vascular, Frontal Lobe or another of over 100 forms of dementia? For information about the different forms of dementia, please call Marilyn at (309) 781-6462.

Suicide Support Group – National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)of the Greater Mississippi Valley. The Suicide Bereavement Group is a support group for people who have survived the loss of a loved one to suicide and have found help by turning to others who have been through a similar experience. Museum Exhibits

Bettendorf Children’s Museum has many interactive and hands on exhibits and activities for youth of all ages. Exhibits include: Fox Hollow, George’s Farm, Lil ‘Ssippi River Valley, Playhouse, Outdoor Play Area, “Lucky Climber presented by Genesis Birth Center”  and “Imagination Studio” And Russell Dig Zone! Besides exhibitions and interactive experiences the museum offers many classes. They include a STEM project class, inventor’s club, Spanish for kids and creative dance classes. Davenport School Museum housed in the JBYoung Opportunity Center, 1702 N. Main Street, Davenport, is the museum for the Davenport school system. It holds many pieces of memorabilia of Davenport schools. Hours are limited: Monday 9 AM – 11 AM, Thursday 10 AM – 2 PM and Friday 10 AM – 2: PM.

Figge Art Museum – The first Thursday of every month is Free Senior Day! All seniors age 60 and up receive free admission as well as 10% off in the museum store. Second Saturdays – 10 am – 5 pm, the Figge will offer FREE admission as part of the Second Saturdays programming. Each month will feature experiences free of charge for the community. Current Exhibits include: Art Bridges – Partner Loan Network now through January 4, 2026, “ Dave Greber: Stilllives II: Vignette now through January 12, 2025, “ ” Revolutionary Artist: The Prison Fantasies of David Alfaro Siquerios now through January 5, 2025,    “Leo Villareal: Interstellar now through January 19, 2025 “ Walter Wick: Hidden Wonders July 6 through November 17, 2024.  The Figge is located at 225 W. Second Street, Davenport.

Mississippi Spoon Museum located at 902 E River Dr, Davenport, IA. Check out a world class collection of spoons as they tell of historical events, social movements and much more. Museum hours are Sunday 11am – 5 pm, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10am – 5pm. Closed on Tuesdays. Phone 563-468-9872. Website mississippispoongallery.com.

Putnam Museum and Science Center – The Putnam, located at 1717 W. 12th Street, Davenport, Iowa. Their many exhibits include: “AKWAABA: Journey to West Africa”  “JUNKRAFT: Global Crisis of Plastic Pollution”  “Mother Nature: Modern Muse” “River, Prairie & People” “Unearthing Ancient Egypt” “Hall of Mammals” and “Fossils and Minerals” Call (563) 324-1933 or go online to www.putnam.org  for more information or to buy tickets.

German American Heritage Center located at 712 W Second Street, Davenport. The museum is a Victorian architecture style building that chronicles and preserves the history of German-Americans in the Midwest region. Hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday noon to 4:00 PM. closed Mondays.

Theater and Music Venues

Circa ’21 presents Miracle on 34th Street – the Musical November 6 – December 29. Show time – Wednesday matinee 11:45 lunch, 1:15 show. Evening, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 5:45 dinner, 7:30 show and Sunday 3:45 dinner, 5:30 show.
A Nat King Cole Christmas  – one night only November 21, John-Mark McGaha portraying Nat King Cole.  Circa ’21 is located in downtown Rock Island, 1828 3rd Avenue. Quad City Music Guild presents Irving Berlin’s White Christmas November 8 – 10 & 15 – 17. Located in Prospect Park in Moline. Call (309) 762-6610 for reservations and more information

Bucktown Americana Music Show – the third Friday night of each month, currently held at Nighswander Theater 2822 Eastern Ave, Davenport. Performances begin at 7:00 pm. Check out their Facebook page for more
