Someone’s New in CASI’s Eleanor’s Café
By Laura Kopp
CASI President/CEO
When you are out and about looking for an excellent food option at a reasonable cost, stop by CASI at 1035 W. Kimberly Road in Davenport and enjoy breakfast or lunch prepared by CASI’s new Culinary Operations Manager – Chef Keys. You’ve likely seen Chef Keys on KWQC where she has hosted a cooking segment during an afternoon community segment for several years. Or you may have seen her around town catering local events and parties. At CASI, she is in charge of Eleanor’s Café including creating and setting the monthly menu, providing a warm and welcoming environment, and engaging with members to create a positive dining experience.
In addition to her daily Monday through Friday (7:30 am to 1:00 pm) service, Chef Keys will also be hosting special luncheons and teaching cooking classes in the coming months.
Chef Keys, born K.C. Ross, is a chef, recipe developer, and community advocate known for her dynamic culinary expertise and dedication to fostering connections through food. Based in the Quad Cities, Chef Keys brings a unique blend of New York hustle and ‘Child of the World’ tastes to Quad Citizens. Formerly hosting luxury bespoke chef’s table-style dinners in her historic home, she now focuses on curating culturally rich and organic catering to both individual clients and larger community initiatives.
Alongside her culinary pursuits, Chef Keys is a passionate community leader and educator, frequently collaborating with local schools, nonprofits, and businesses to uplift those in need. She’s championed initiatives such as the “Bee Nourished” program, providing food-insecure residents with nourishing, chef-crafted meal kits. Chef Keys’ journey is about more than just cooking – it’s about empowering others, promoting cultural heritage, and creating spaces where food is a medium for meaningful connection.
Check out menus in CASI Connections, check out the CASI website at www.CASIseniors.org or stop by CASI to see choices for the week, and then make plans to dine at Eleanor’s Café soon. You’ll be so glad you did!
