Parkinson’s Support Group – Third Sat. each month, 10 a.m -noon, The September 19 meeting will be at CASI, 1035 W. Kimberly Rd., Davenport, IA 52806. The speaker will be Dr. Pamela Wong. Dr. Wong will be speaking on Parkinson’s drugs, what they are intended to do, and possible interactions. The public is welcome and parking is free. The October 17 meeting will be at Ridgecrest Village, in the Crest, 4130 Northwest Blvd., Davenport, IA 52806. The speaker will be Dr. Jeremy Greenlee, Program Director of Residency Programs, University of Iowa. Dr. Greenlee will be speaking on Parkinson’s research, and how you can participate. The November 21 meeting will be at Ridgecrest Village, in the Crest Activity room and will feature Ms. Blair Gruenhagen speaking on Acupuncture and Parkinson’s. Sunday, October 11, 11 am-4 pm: Apple Fest on the River. Fun, family event that features apples, apple cider and a variety of homemade food items including pie, strudel, scones, and cupcakes. There will be a huge truckload of pumpkins and gourds. Other vendors include kettle corn and a wide variety of unique craft and gift items. The LeClaire Lions Club will be selling Chili, Brats, Hot Dogs, Chili Dogs, and Pork Chop Sandwiches. The QC Antique Car Club will be displaying their cars, and there will be a “Kids Only” area for a small fee that includes face painting, beanbag toss, other children’s games, and a jump house. 37th Annual Beta Sigma Phi Craft Show, Sat., Oct. 17, 2015 at Galva High School 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. Largest one day craft show featuring over 90 booths. There will be a wide variety of quality crafted items. There will be apples, pumpkins, kettle corn, and mums. There is a $2.00 admission charge. No strollers or pets allowed inside. Proceeds will be used for community projects.
